Naga Kunda StepWell
Work in Progress

Scaffolding work began on February 20th, focusing solely on the section for soil removal from the lower shaft level.

Few parts of ancient Kalasa was found during the desilting process, which could have been part of the structure once.

The weekly report highlights the initial efforts in restoring the Nagakunda Pushkarini stepwell in Sudi. During Week 1 (March 6–8, 2025), a green shade net was installed around the stepwell's pavement to protect the site, with plans to extend it above the stepwell soon. Devegetation using chemical treatments was initiated to remove roots embedded between stone members.
Additionally, pavement stones and the underlying cement-stone mixture were removed to facilitate the dismantling of the stepwell's top stone members. Meanwhile, bush cleaning was carried out by the Water Literacy Foundation to aid in channeling rainwater runoff effectively.
